Denton Thomas Turnipseed, 61, of Augusta, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center. Born June 29, 1943, in Augusta, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas D. and Mary (Kinsey) Turnipseed.

He was a member of the Stillfork Presbyterian Church, and served as Township Clerk for Augusta Township and had also been a factory worker at Caraustar in Minerva.

In addition to his wife Ruby (Wickersham) Turnipseed, to whom he was married for 39 years, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Maurrisa Turnipseed of Baltimore, MD; daughter and son-in-law Darla and Fred Underwood of East Rochester; grandchildren Sara Turnipseed of Baltimore, Laken and Tyler Underwood of East Rochester; and sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Fred Garrett of Augusta.

Funeral services will be held at the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 3, 2004 with Rev. Jim Rice officiating. Burial will be in the Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour before the service.
