Jean Rosa,
age 77, of Monroe, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002. She was born June
16, 1925 in Freeport, IL., the daughter of Clifford and Eleanor Snively.
Moving to Monroe with her family, Jean graduated from
Monroe High School
in 1943. She attended Stephens College in Missouri and graduated from
the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1947 with a degree in art
education. She married Robert (Bob) Rosa in 1947. Returning to Monroe
they operated Rosa Florist Starflower Shop for many years. Their
interest in art and architecture was reflected in the unique design in
the flower shop and in their home. Jean and Bob traveled extensively,
having set foot on all but two continents. She was preceded in death by
her parents and a brother, Harold Snively. Survivors include her sons,
Mark (Sue) Rosa of Madison, and John (LuAnne) Rosa of Monroe.
A
gathering of relatives and friends will be planned for a later date. A
memorial fund in Jean's name will be established for the Multiple
Sclerosis Society of America. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is
assisting the family.
