IN MEMORY of CARL MARTY
"When life's last picture is
painted.
...sit down for an eon or two;
Til the Master of all great workmen
shall put you to work anew."
The
hospitality industry has lost a dedicated man -- but his memory will live on
forever.
On
July 2nd, death knocked at the door of Carl Marty of the Northernaire Hotel,
Three Lakes, and took away a man of patience and principles . . . a
man who did so much for the hospitality industry.
Carl believed in a heavy program of advertising in the metropolitan areas.
He also promoted contact and hospitality with all travel and outdoor writers in
press, radio and tv.
Carl emphasized in his messages that there was a keen interest in the natural
beauty of Wisconsin -- and the wildlife native to our region. He was
recognized nationally for his work in protecting wildlife.
He was born in Monroe, Wis., but spent part of his youth in Chicago. He
served with the Marine Corps in World War I. He was 80 years old at the
time of his death.
Carl began in the cheese business,
