Sheldon, Iowa
Charles
B. Jones, formerly a carpenter in Sheldon but at the time of his death
residing on a farm east of Sheldon, on the Sanborn road, died Thursday,
March 22, aged 46 years, 7 months and 25 days. He was born in
Leigh, Bradford county, Pennsylvania, where he resided until 1886, when
he removed to Illinois and from there he came to Sheldon, residing in
and about this place up to the time of his death. He married Miss
Grace Dodge, of Leigh, February 22, 1876, she dying February 3,
1883. To them were born three children -- two daughters and one
son. January 20, 1887, he married Miss Fanny
Isely, of Greene county, Wisconsin, three daughters being born to
them. The Funeral took place Sunday, at the M. E. Church, Rev. C.
A. Artman preaching the funeral sermon.
Mr. Jones was a good husband and a kind father, and a man who enjoyed
the confidence and respect of those who knew him best. To the
sorrowing relatives we would extend sincere sympathy in their
affliction.
